That would have been really fun ... The whole trouble with it was there was some sort of glitch in the paperwork in ownership. The movie company doesn't own all the rights to it and they don't want to share, so -- it's just kind of gone sour for all these years. I shouldn't say they don't want to share, but there's not enough in it for them if they have to share the rights with somebody else. By the time somebody realizes it's a completely wasted franchise and they should reinvigorate it, I'm too old to play her. source

Well I knew this was a big part of "why not" along with financing and just the....logistics of it all. I don't think she's too old for anything though. :)

I've seen more pages using her name and allowing "friends" to believe it's her, whether directly or indirectly by just not saying anything. Please repost this, especially on any Lucy Lawless page that does not specifically acknowledge that it isn't hers.

I wonder how those fakers would feel if someone went around pretending to be them? Doing and saying things that they never would? Perhaps they think they're doing no harm by posting brief things. But they are! The behavior and the writing style would be theirs', not Lucy's. They are totally misrepresenting her, and doing her a great disservice.

Some fans believe these sites and get their feelings hurt when they find out the truth, or perhaps if the faker says the wrong thing, fans will be hurt because they think she has said something wrong to them.

FYI, Lucy doesn't have a twitter either. I'm sure if she ever does get a Facebook or Twitter it will be announced and linked from her official site http://www.lucylawlessfanclub.com/

Just wanted to let my fellow Canucks know that Xena Warrior Princess is on Netflix Canada. I've been waiting for it for awhile now, so this is a big deal. I have the dvd's btw, but it's great to see Xena there, and for it to be available to people who don't have the dvds and/or who've never seen it! The more Xena is out there, the better I say!

My friend Sam, whom has Netflix in the U.S. told me there are two episodes missing in season five. So I checked and there are indeed two episodes missing, "Lyre, Lyre Hearts on Fire" and "Antony and Cleopatra." No explanation for this strange anomaly. So instead of 134 episodes there are 132!(**Edit September 3 2011-131 episodes as I noticed "Altered States" from season one is also mysteriously missing**) Still awesome! I pay $7.99 a month for Netflix. Not bad! There's a lot of other great shows there plus movies. If I remember correctly, there's a free trial period!

Xena has always been my favorite show, and always will be, so I'm very happy that it's even more available now!

Sad news readers as the Official Xena Convention will be coming to an end with the 2012 event being the last one:

I never went to one, and I already know I won't be able to go to this last one. I always thought one day.......

However, I am grateful for all of the wonderful coverage I've seen over the years, and I'm sure the people that went in the past, and that are going to the last one, will have many wonderful memories to cherish.

I've notice some people are talking as if though this means it's the end of the fandom. Uhm, no! Just the official conventions! I'm certainly not going anywhere and neither is my blog, as I'm sure none of the other sites aren't going anywhere either! We all continue on as usual, because Xena is the best show EVER, and is in our hearts! Battle on!

I like this award because it represents the best in a genre(my favorite) that is for the most part, ignored in the mainstream! While Spartacus isn't fantasy or science fiction, it does have a fantasy element because of the graphics and fight scenes. Spartacus is an unique show. It doesn't fit any particular mold. It doesn't try to! It does it's own thing! (Kind of like me readers ;) ) I've always said Lucy's acting is phenomenal! In Xena, and now in Spartacus! I'm glad she got this well deserved nod! F*ck the mainstream!

Xena Season 2 DvD Re-Release Update

There are no extras on the Xena Warrior Princess Season 2 re-release via this review at Amazon. As I expected there appears to be some confusion due to Amazon slapping old reviews from the Anchor Bay set onto the re-release.

I get the feeling there will be no extras on any future re-releases that were on the Anchor Bay dvds, as Anchor Bay most likely owns the rights to those!

It's from Starpulse. It almost makes it sound like Lucy didn't like playing Xena, doesn't it?

Here is what she said in Starpulse that they justified the headline with from today February 4 2011:

“Yes, I hated it,” Lawless said. “Hated it, but I wasn’t in a position to say no. Seems like a pretty fair headline, eh readers? But what's this I discovered at Collider.com from an interview on January 21 2011:

Why it's exactly the same readers!

Except for one thing. The question from Collider.com was this:

Did you always hate the action?

Hmmm......it doesn't sound to me like she was asked if she hated being an action heroine! Here's it is on the whole:

LAWLESS: I love that she loves her husband. I love that she doesn’t fight because I hate the action.

Maybe I'm nitpicking here, but to me Starpulse's headline seems to imply that Lucy didn't like being Xena. When actually all she said was that she hates doing action. Something she has said many, many, many times before! This is no surprise. This is however a non-news story! And rather crummy journalism to boot!

***Edit February 21 2011*** I was so disgusted about Lucy being taken out of context, that I forgot to mention the other disgusting thing at the end, which is that the snippet was brazenly "lifted" from another site with no mention of the original article! They wrote it as if though they did the interview! Wow, that's low! I use snippets all the time readers, but always place the source link! It's the proper thing to do!

Why do I put those big ol watermarks in screencaptures readers? Cause I'm a bitch? Well maybe just a lil bit. Sometimes. Lol. But that's not the reason. What is? After all, they're only raw caps right? No artwork right?

Right on both accounts readers. But let me give you an example of why I do it, say my last set of screencaps from Maternal Instincts. Group1 and Group 2. There are 57 caps altogether. Here's what I did:

(1) I took about 650 screenshots.
(2) I went through them all and kept all the best ones. The sharpest and clearest ones. I deleted all the rest.
(3) I renamed each cap "Maternal Instincts 1" "Maternal Instincts 2", etc.
(4) I auto-level-adjusted or manually adjusted each cap to make it more clearer and brighter. Caps have a tendency to come out a little dark.
(5) I resized each one to 1920x1440. Rather big, but you can always resize smaller. I like big for my artwork.
(6) In group one, since it was a small group of 10, I removed a small percentage of the noise. In group 2 I did not. This sort of extra step is something I may or may not do.
(7) I converted each one to jpeg format.
(8) I watermarked each one. A quick process for this though.

All in all I would say the amount of time I spent on this was 3.5 hours to 4 hours. From taking the screencaptures to watermarking. So considering the time and process, I think placing a watermark is rather reasonable. I do this for artwork, and share so that other may use them if they like. If you use for artwork, fine, I don't need any credit. But since I use a third partly uploader it makes it easy for anyone to download them and re-upload them to their website, forums, facebook, etc. And THAT'S the reason I place a watermark. If I didn't, anybody could download and re-upload and get well received congratulations for doing so. When actually, I did all the work!

Yes there is a big ol watermark, but any artist worth their grain of salt can easily remove it. I hope you can better understand the watermark thingy now. I'm not really a beeeach. Not all the time anyways;)

I struggled about what to call this. I came up with titles like "Back To The Beginning" or "Full Circle." The first just didn't work and I already have one named Full Circle . Then I heard the Kenny Rogers song, "Through the Years." I always thought of that song in terms of my parents. Even years later after my Dad died, it always makes me think of them. It's their song! Anyways readers, if you listen to the song and read the lyrics it can definitely be applied to Xena and Gabrielle as well.

Recently this past week readers, a certain someone made some inappropriate and untrue comments in an article. He said he was joking around, but unfortunately for him he has made these comments before, thereby voiding that statement.

Now he is saying he told the truth but people don't want to hear it because lies are preferable to them. But of course he's just trying to do the right thing eh? Blink. What an honest halo wearing supreme being he is to do us this favour......NOT!

Self-righteous to the extreme I'd say! What is he? Judge, jury and executioner? He should look in the mirror! Why doesn't he tell the truth about his motives? I could go on. Anyways readers I found a definition for sense of self-entitlement that I think really describes and defines this person:

It means that an individual believes he is entitled to have whatever he wants when he wants it, without regard to what is fair or reasonable to others. So he takes everything and everyone for granted. He expects to receive favours without ever having to do anyone else a favour. He feels entitled to invade and trespass on others’ boundaries; believes that everything he receives is his due.

He has no concern or respect for the rights of others but vigorously protects his own. Rules, guidelines, convention and laws apply to other people and he alone is entitled to disregard them. Often he projects an image of arrogance, inconsiderateness and selfishness.

Ouch!!! But it's truly truly what I believe about this person for a long time now. Based on more than just the comments in the article. He has turned out to be a big disappointment.

Celebrity Impostors

The following is a post I did on my GravityOnline blog because I consider it a social network issue, but I decided to bring it over here too since it concerned Lucy. It's about how someone impersonated her over at twitter, but it's more than that. I added some tips, reason of harm, extra reading. It's not just about Lucy, but about any celebrity you may be interested in following readers. I'm not an expert or anything, these are just my thoughts and tips that I use myself when following a potential celebrity with an unverified account. Hopefully, they will be helpful to you:

The case:
A few days ago a celebrity impostor was outed on twitter. Why did I take an interest? Because the celebrity in question just happens to be my favorite actress, Lucy Lawless. I discovered the twitter account(lucylawless1968) through a google alert. So I went over to check it out myself. It took me all of one second to figure out it wasn't her.

How, you wonder? Let me say that it hadn't been announced on Lucy's official site. But I didn't know that because I didn't visit Lucy's official site that day. The reason I knew instantly was because of the style of writing. Lucy's posts on her site are always charming, humorous, clever, witty, fun. An absolute delight to read. The imposter's tweets were dull, boring, and uninteresting. And short, probably because he/she was trying to be careful.

Furthermore:

The impostor uses emoticons a lot. I've never seen Lucy use them in her posts. Not to say she wouldn't, but the impostor used them way too much. The description "Some of you may know me as the actress playing 'Xena'." just didn't strike me as the way Lucy would have wrote her bio.

I looked at whom she was following. This made me lol. I just couldn't picture her sitting there and searching for a bunch of Xenites to follow. This is just common sense! She was following Kevin Sorbo! I seriously doubt that she follow someone whom disses her and her husband every chance he gets! The first person she followed was Justin Beiber??? Lol(she has since deleted many of these follows). I would imagine the first person she would follow would be Sharon Delaney whom runs her official site. Just saying.........

Geeze, I'm starting to get too proprietary here. Sorry.

She also listed http://www.lucylawless.info/ as her official site. This is Ausxip's site. The largest, best resource site for Xena/Lucy on the Internet. But not Lucy's official site. Lucy's official site is http://www.lucylawlessfanclub.com/. When Ausxip pointed this out to fake Lucy, the impostor insisted that it was her official site. This caused many of us to lol at twitter. Lucy not know what her own official site was???? Hilarious!

Anyways, the impostor was outed by Sharon Delaney and Ausxip.

Tips:
All this leads me to a few tips I use to sort real celebrities from the impostors (for unverified accounts):

(1) Did the celebrity in question announce their twitter account on their official site? If not, then it's probably not the real deal.

(2)Reliable Sources. Are other celebrities encouraging follows for this person. Are they tweeting @ them? I'd say it's the real deal if this is the case. Reliable sources can also be people whom aren't celebrities themselves, but may have insider information for one reason or another. These are trusted people whom have always, or at the very least, almost always have been right in the past about celebrity situations.

(3) The profile picture. I notice a lot of celebrities use a never-before-seen personal pic and not one that is out there in the public. Good sign if this is the case. Even better: a picture of themeselves holding up the name of their twitter id.

(4) More pictures. Most celebrities will upload personal photos they take, or are taken of them on a whim. Via twitpic or other. Obviously a faker could never do this.

(5) Appearances. If the celebrity says beforehand that they will be at a certain place, and later it is reported as being so, along with pictures, this is a good sign.

(6)Following, followers. Look at whom they are following. And who is following them. Are other celebrities following them? I ask this because I assume they would have somewhat of an inside track as to whether this is the real deal or not. You know, like maybe they are friends in real life and talk to each other on the phone. And what about following? In this case you kind of have to use your deductive skills here. Does it make sense? Which brings us to tip number 6.

(7) I hate to put it this way, but use your common sense. Think logically. If 2 and 2 don't equal 4, then it's an impostor.

What's the harm?:
What's the harm? Some people think: well they're just having fun and it's no big deal.

Imagine if the impostor said something bad. Maybe told a fan off! Or, what if a fan sees the real celebrity at an event, and says "I'm so-and-so at twitter." The celebrity would have no clue as to what the fan is talking about. This could really hurt a fan's feeling either because they think the celebrity is cruel, or they realize they've been duped. What if the impostor says's they are going to be at a certain place, and a lot of fans show up only to be disappointed. The scenarios are endless, causing harm to both the real celebrity and fans.

Think of it this way: How would you feel if someone pretended to be you at facebook or twitter, and were saying all kinds of things that you would never say. Do I really need to say more readers as to why this is so wrong!?

Final thoughts:
Impostors should think about the consequences. It can cause damage to the celebrity's image and reputation, not to mention hurt fans. Just because you are on the Internet, that doesn't give you the free-for-all to do anything you want, even if you feel like you're 10 feet tall! I live in Canada, and more and more there have been court cases for various newspapers to turn over email addresses and ip addresses of commenters in slander cases. And guess what, the courts agree!

Just be wary readers when following a potential celebrity from an unverified account. Verified account are great, but sometimes it takes a while before an account gets verified. In the meantime watch their tweets and utilize some of my tips. I'm not an expert or anything but so far they've worked!

I just spotted this readers: Xena Warrior Princess Season 2 and Hercules The Legendary Journeys Season 2 DVD re-release available for pre-order at Amazon.com. Region 1. No release date yet. So if you don't have the dvds at all, here's your chance!

I noticed Amazon stuck the older dvd versions' reviews onto these re-releases. That would be okay for reviews about the show itself, but some reviews are about the dvd quality and extras, bonuses, etc. Keep an eye on the date of the reviews. Look for reviews after March 29 2011.

As I expected there appears to be some confusion due to Amazon slapping old reviews from the Anchor Bay set onto the re-release. I get the feeling there will be no extras on any of the re-releases that were on the Anchor Bay dvds, as Anchor Bay most likely owns the rights to those!

Journal Skins

Recently I designed 3 Xena journal skins for Deviant art. This involves working the css and coming up with a header and body. This is the first time I made journal skins. It's a real pain. But once the first one is done then it's easy. If you're at DA you need to have a premium membership in order to try different journal skins, which I don't think is fair but that's the set up they have. Right now I'm using the blue Xena journal skin myself which you can check it out here.

Thought I'd show you what a Xena geek I am. I never should have spent my money this way, but I'm not sorry either. Ok, maybe when I was between jobs I was a little sorry.

I know some of this isn't official stuff, but I can't remember right now what's what. Yeah, that really is a thimble. There's an unfinished charm bracelet, kantana letter openers, Xena sword letter opener, etc, etc, etc. I love the wine charms!

Yep, those are bookmarks. Never used them. Also some magnets.

That's a unused 365 page calendar from 2004. I never even looked at the pictures in it. There a 2008 calendar I bought just because I liked the art. One of my favorite things is the Hallmark card. When you open it up it does Xena's battle cry. Love it!

So now you know what a geek I am. This is just the tip of the iceberg! I don't recommend anybody going out and spending money this way. At the very least be picky when it comes to your purchases. FYI, all this stuff was bought years ago in the olden days when I use to have money.

Watching Xena Episodes 21 - 24 S1

These are just random thoughts. Not synopsises, analysts, reviews, or critiques, although sometimes I do question things. I'm having fun watching again. I'm having fun blogging about it. I would not have fun if I blogged those things.

In The Greater Good Argo and Gabs don't to get along too well. Lol at their scenes together. Salmoneus is using the name of Lord Seltzer, haha. I gotta a kick out of Xena chuckling when the villagers fought back with the seltzer bottles and corks. Deja vu at the scene right before Xena collapses "dead." It reminded me of the Herc episode "The Gauntlet" where Xena crawls to the end of the line and collapses. They played the same music. Touching scene when Sal finds her and laments "proud warrioress."

Our talkative bard was stunned silence. And later takes her grief out on a tree. But she wants to stay and fight as she remember Xena's words: "It is not about me, it is about these people. That is why we are here. People like this used to be my victims. I keep that in mind every time we come up against a warlord like Talmadeus. It is the Greater Good, remember that."

I love that Argo had an active part in this episode. I always thought Xena's relationship with Argo was cute. There weren't too many cute moments for Xena in this show, whereas there's a lot with Gabs. So they kind of stand out with me.

Callisto is such a good episode. Wow at all the awesome fight scenes. Who wouldn't love watching two women warriors charging at each other on horses, whilst doing their war cry with deadly fierce expressions? I know I do! Not to mention the awesome ladder scene. Loved the part where they hand-to-hand combat on the ladder. Joxer makes his first appearance. Lol at scenes between Gabs and Joxer. He's just not cut out to be a warrior.

In Death Mask we meet Xena's brother Toris. Frankly I wasn't too impressed by this character. Is it any wonder we never saw him again? The warlord Cortese wasn't that impressive either. Lol at Gabs trying to see if she could catch an arrow again. I chuckled at this wink wink moment: when they were eating, Gabs said about the bird she was cooking that it just wasn't the same without her sister Lila's seventeen herbs and spices;) Oh, and the breast dagger makes an appearance popping right out of Xena's uhm.....breast, literally, lol!

Is There a Doctor in the House was the "Mash" episode. I loved that show btw. All work and no play. No humorous scenes. Ephiny gives birth to her son. Gabs dies. I think this is the first death for her. Xena is distraught and won't give up on her. Gabs sure did recover quickly as per the end when her and Xena hit the road. I'm thinking as I watch, shouldn't Gabs get a little more rest!? Lol.

I really enjoyed watching season 1. Here are my picks for what I think are the best of season 1 in no particular order:

Lucy in Amazon Leathers

Ok, if you haven't seen this yet, then you need to go here right now! There's a new post by Lucy plus a picture of her donning the amazon bikini she wore in Xena 10 years ago! She looks wow! She has her Xena scowl on too, lol. She could totally play Xena again in a movie!

I never want to see anyone else in that role. The reason I loved Xena so much is because of what the actress brought to it. It's those little nuances and idiosyncrasies that Lucy empowered the character with, that made Xena so special. Who else could deliver the lines the way she did? Who else could do those amazing facial expressions? Who else could act the part with believability in such a wide range of emotions, from comedy to drama, the way she did? No one!

She set the bar too high, and no other actress will ever reach it!

The Dusty Scrolls

If you managed to make your way here, then you must have seen my announcement about the name change. The blog formerly known as ~~Klippart's Shangri-la~~ is now called The Dusty Scrolls. I've had this blog for two years now and it was time to make a change, as I tweeted: "time to evolve." There's no change to the content. The only change was to the name and banner.

Thank you for taking the time to check things out. I'm always amazed and humbled that people actually come here to see what I'm doing. I appreciate that so much.

This blog will continue to be about Xena/Lucy. I'll continue to upload art. I'll continue to upload screen captures, but of a lesser amount. I'll only upload ones that I think are an outstanding shot. There are so many online at so many places that I don't it's necessary for me to do them anymore at the pace and quantity I did before.

I'll continue to write my "Watching Xena Episodes" posts. I don't know if your interested in reading these, but I've been enjoying blogging about it. I'll continue to add any interesting things I find such as videos, or interviews. Of course all of this will be done at my convenience, as that job thing gets in the way of me being here more often!

Watching Xena Episodes 17 - 20 S1

In my continuing blogging of watching Xena again after 3 years, I just wanted say again these are just random thoughts. Not synopsises, reviews, or critiques, although sometimes I do question things. I'm having fun watching again. I'm having fun blogging about it. I would not have fun if I blogged those things. Also, I made an adjustment to titles and labels, adding S1 at the end to reflect season 1.

In Royale Couple of Thieves we're introduced to the King of Thieves, Autolycus to which Bruce Campbell is perfectly cast. I chuckled when Auto introduces Xena as Cherish. He starts saying she is his assistant but quickly changes it to concubine! Lol. Xena does the dance of the........3 veils, although she only has two, to the Peter Gunn theme! Huh!? I loved it! Haha! I had fun watching this episode again. The silliness on this show is done so well!

In The Prodigal Gabs goes home after she freezes up in a fight. Lol at all the ways she tries to hitchhike a ride home. Such as when she uses her sex appeal by raising her skirt, swinging her bag, and shaking her hips, haha. I like the scene when Gabs arrives home. The center of the village is empty. The camera pans with her as she walks around looking. You really get a good look at the buildings. Awesome props! Cheers to Gabs as she utilizes the skills Xena taught her to help the town.

The thing that really stood out to me in Altered States was the awesome New Zealand scenery that was shown! There were many fantastic shots of it in this episode. The classic shot of Xena coming out of the water naked and punching out a thug stood out too, lol. Gabs on drugs was hysterical! She tells Xena in her drugged state: "by the gods, you are beautiful." Are we sensing something here readers?

I see why they picked Karl Urban to play Caesar. He plays Mael with the same arrogant manner. There are at least 3 cool scenes of Xena riding Argo. I chuckled when Xena and Gabs were climbing out of the well, at the look on Xena's face when Gabs climbs over her head, lol. Really loved the scene at the end in slow motion as Xena is running to save Icus from being sacrificed. Cool scene!

In Ties That Bind Ares pretends to be Xena's father. I thought this was such a cruel deception by Ares. Later in season 3, in the episode The Furies, Xena claims Ares is her father in order to outwit him. Some fans think that Ares may have really been her father. I don't, because well, frankly how can I put it but: ewwwww!!!

Anyways, I digress. The Warlord that Xena went up against was badly in need of a bath, comb, and teeth cleaning, lol. I loved the scene when Xena screamed "take the village!!!" Readers, I love Xena as a good warrior struggling to make up for her dark past, but when her darkness comes out, it's awesome!!!

In Athens City Academy of the Performing Bards Gabs goes off to a bard competition. This is a clip show, but nicely done. Why do they have clips shows anyway? Lol at the character of Stallonus! I like how Gabs developed a close group of friend so fast. I believed it! Loved how they stood up for her.

I chuckled at Gabs sneaking into the competition. I wonder what she was like as a kid? We think Xena was handful, but I dunno, I think our Gabs was too! Of course Gabs wins the competition. Our favorite little bard wouldn't lose!

In a A Fistful of Dinars I love the opening where Xena is chasing that guy in the woods and doing her warcry. She always looks so cool when she's running! I gotta kick out of Xena reading the clue and laughing at Thersites. And the expression she gave him when she ate it, Haha! So Xena was engaged to Petracles, and Gabs is attracted to him. I don't get it, but whatever!

I gotta a kick out of Thersites. Him and Gabs animosity was funny at times. He really picked on her. Poor Gabs! The arrows that the Paesuses(dunno if I spelled that right) shot at Xena and the gang as they ran to the rope bridge, looked a lot like the centaur arrows from Hooves and Harlots. I'd like to have one of those skeletons on the death wheel thingy as decoration for Halloween. How cool would that be!

Warrior... Princess starts off with a cool scene of Xena riding her horse and jumping over a log as she heads to a kingdom. I chuckled at everyone there thinking she was the princess. Lol at the maid servant's comments about her "costume."

I get why Xena pretended to be Diana, but why did Diana have to pretend to be Xena? Wouldn't that have made her just as much as a target for Xena's enemies? It didn't happen of course, but the logic ~scratches head~..........just saying!

Funny scenes when Diana and Gabs meet up! Lucy was awesome in duel roles. It really seemed like two different people. Awesome scene when Xena uses the harp to shoot the arrows. Cool! I love the scene at the end when Xena is eating the sweets and tells Gabs she had them every night for dessert. Gabs just looks at her. Lol, cute scene!

So in Mortal Beloved Xena went from "my friend" about Marcus in the episode Path Not Taken, to "the man I love" here! I didn't buy it. It felt like this was being shoved down my throat, and that these feelings of a great and powerful love story were rushed! Maybe if it had been more gradual or subtle, it would have been more believable. I do however, really like that they chose an African American as Xena's love interest. Kudos to them! I hope Xena and Marcus didn't really "do it" with Gabs sleeping right there a few feet away. Ewww!

Atyminius was a creepy villain. Definitely a serial killer! I always loved the character of Charon. First saw him in one of the Herc movies. Hilarious, and total scene stealer! I like the way the underworld looks, dark with caves and volcanic looking.

So I'm still having fun watching Xena again. I watched episodes 9 - 12 last night. My thoughts are random when I'm blogging. I just want to have fun with it. If people like reading it, that's cool too:)

How come in Death in Chains Toxeus and his men aren't suffering like the other suppose to be dead people? ~Scratches head~ Poor Gabs behind the curtain with the rat next to her face made me howl with laughter at the look on her face. I remember seeing the Xena blooper with Lucy and all those rats on her and how she just wanted outta there! Can't say I blame her!

The scene at the end was cool when Celesta was freed and everything went slow motion as she went around touching all the bad guys. They must have reversed episodes cause Gabs is wearing her amazon getup here. But the amazon episode hasn't happened yet! It's the next episode!

Hooves and Harlots was so good. It's filled with scantily clad amazons. Ephiny competing with Xena to see who's more badass is amusing. She's really cool and funny. Gabs learning to become an amazon is hilarious. Her swinging that staff around and hitting herself on the head made me chuckle.

I gotta kick out of Phantes line when he thought Xena was an amazon: "if it looks like a hydra, and moves like a hydra, it's a hydra!" Lol. This is the episode where Xena says: "Making war is simple. Making peace is never easy. If it was, everyone would do it."

We got to hear the cool "Amazon Dance Party" song. Gabs starts fighting in this episode. We learn Xena has fought the centaurs before. So season 2 was already being writtened. I love the fight with the chobos! That was sooo ultra-cool and awesome!!! Ok, so maybe I watched that fight scene twice!

In the Black Wolf Salmoneus is in it. He's so hilarious. He has humorous chemistry with everyone on both Herc and Xena. His scenes with Xena are always so cutely funny! Gabs and him had funny scenes too. This is the episode where Xena says: “Causes are only lost when people give up." I laughed when Xena was suppose to be staging a fight with one of the bad guys but lose. She was really actually giving him him a good beating. Lol.

In Beware of Greeks Bearing Gifts. The writers put a whole new spin on the story of Troy. The Trojan Horse prop was cool! Clever of Xena to use it to get out of the city. I like that they made Helen of Troy a woman of color! Gabs meet up with future hubby, Perdicus. Good episode.

OK, I watched episodes 5 - 8 of Xena last night.

The Path Not Taken was a good episode. I found it hard to buy Marcus as a baddie warrior who use to ride with Xena in her evil Xena days though. He just seems too nice of a guy. The fight scene at the end was cool. Love seeing Xena running around on walls.

How did Gabs escape capture? I'll have to assume the captured princess got home in time to save her neck. We got to hear Xena sing the "Burial" song. Joe Loduca is a genius!

The Reckoning was good. Kevin Smith owned the role of Ares. He's awesome! When Xena broke free and started beating up the farmer who was beating her, I gotta tell ya, I wanted her to give him a good beating! It's like Walker Texas Ranger. Did you ever watch that show?

They always made the bad guys so despicable that you wanted Walker to give em a good beating! And he did! Not that I'm advocating violence, but it is tv. Of course you can't go around in real life beating people up readers!

I chuckled when Gabs tries to pay Xena back for hitting her by hitting her back. Only she missed and hits Xena's breastplate instead!

In The Titans I like the fight scene at the beginning. Love it when Xena fights and is laughing the same time. Lol. She totally enjoys a good fight! I like the scene when Hyperion's arm is trapped, and Xena swaggers up with her sword lazily rested on her shoulder about to do him in! Haha. Love it!

Also Gabs irritation at her virgin status which keeps getting mentioned to everybody was hilarious.

Loved the Prometheus episode in which Herc and Iolaus cross over. I was already a Herc fan. When did Herc tell Xena about the sexy scantily clad dancing oracle anyways? Lol. He found time to do that in her appearance on Hercules? They seemed kind of busy doing other things, not to mention "it" for that to come up!

I like when Xena tells Hercules: "the world needs Hercules" and he responds: "the world needs Xena too." You go Herc!

That's it for today. The sound effects on this show are really good. That's another thing I'm noticing now. I'll keep on writing as I watch. You can read what I wrote about episodes 1 - 4 S1 here.

I started watching Xena again last night. Did you know I haven't watched Xena in 3 years!!! Kind of odd considering my blog eh? But that's reason! My blog, art, videos, sites, etc! I'm online most of the the time when I'm not working! I don't watch much tv anymore! But last night there was absolutely nothing good on, so I watched the first 4 episodes of Xena.

I really like the first season. When it started airing in Canada, it started at the second season. So I never got to see the first season until the dvds came out. I remember it was a real treat at the time. Watching episodes I hadn't seen before was great!

Sins of the Past is an important episode, well..........because it's the first episode, if for no other reason. I love the look on Xena's face when she's heading home, and is at the field where the women are working and singing Glede Ma Glede. She knows she's home! I love the look on her face when her mother Cyrene embraces her at the end as well. It means so much to her.

Of course we meet our little bard Gabrielle whom wants to travel with Xena, and informs her "she's not the little girl her parents' think she is." Gabs is a great sidekick. She is very funny, where Xena is so serious.

I chuckled at the fight between Xena and Draco at the end when they were standing on the villagers heads! The look on their(the villagers) faces was so funny. I also kept thinking: wouldn't they break their necks or fall over! Lol. Cheers to this show that didn't care about the unbelievable! I didn't care either. I just wanted to be entertained, and I was!

Chariots of War wasn't my favorite episode. But was still good. I found Xena's relationship with Darius and his family forced and awkward. I couldn't stand the fact that he wanted Xena to change into a docile little miss. And when he kept her weapons from her......ugh!!! Go away!!!

The chariot scene was great. I chuckled again when Xena said "I lost my chakram!" and Gabrielle said "is that suppose to be funny!?" Lol.They were so proud of themselves when they toppled the opposing chariot. I laughed at the look on Xena and Gab's faces when they saw they were about to crash as well.

Dreamworker is an awesome episode. The writing here is so good. We are introduced to the breast dagger which gives us a humorous conversation between Xena and Gabrielle. I love moments like that on this show! They're like precious memories. Later Xena confronts her past in her dreamscape. Then she comes face to face with her evil self.

Although I started watching Xena in the second season, if I had seen the first season to begin with, this would have been the episode where I would have said to myself: "wow, that Lucy Lawless is a great actress!" She was awesome as her evil self! Loved it! At the end Xena and Gab had that nicely writtened conversation about the lake being changed forever after throwing the rock in.

Cradle of Hope was a good episode. We got to see Xena blow fire. We got to see Xena dance! All's good in the world! Xena seems uncomfortable around babies. I wonder if the writers were already thinking about the future episode "Orphan of War" where we find out about her son, Solan.

That's it for now. Maybe I'll write some more as I continue to watch. I love seeing the New Zealand scenery again. I'm noticing things like the props and costumes, such as the chariots, for example. They really went all out to entertain us! Even though I don't think they had a huge budget, they still managed to pull it off!

I usually only ever buy official Xena merchandise. But every now and then I stray from that. Maybe I'll get in deep sh*t for buying this. Especially given my stolen art drama that occurred 2 weeks ago. This isn't stolen art. It does have the Xena logo on it however. But when I saw it, I simply had to have it!

How cool is this when it lights up;)

I bought it on eBay. The location said Australia. But when it arrived, I saw that it was shipped from Hong Kong. I haven't left feedback yet. Still mulling it over. I only ever shop from the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. On occasion, some European countries. Never from Hong Kong.

Obviously it won't stay on the chair. I have to find a nice spot for it on my wall. So now you know why this Xena fan had to have it, and I totally love it!
